  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

Life on the Farm is Kinda Laid Back…

Well, I’m plunging into the blogging world!

You (yes, allllll one of you) may be wondering about me. My name is Jennifer and I live on a small family farm in Virginia. I call myself the CottonWife, but we grow corn, peanuts and soybeans in addition to cotton. Gotta diversify!

My husband and I have two girls who are four and six and we’ve got a baby on the way - so I guess we grow more than just plants, huh? I also have a daycare at home, so there are lots of kids around allllll the time.

Mostly I’ll be chronicalling life here on the farm and all the grease that goes with it and what life is like with all these children around!

 Welcome and thanks for reading!

And oh, if you wanna buy cotton just let me know!

I think you are off to a great start. The way you put the cotton picture in the header is a wonderful idea. I believe you will really enjoy the world of blogging. 3 months ago I didn’t know what a blog was and now I am hooked on it. You meet some great folks too. Good luck with your site.

I stumbled onto your blog today from Pioneer Woman’s site. I’m on a dairy farm in Iowa and know very little about cotton farming. But, my brother is an engineer at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa, and he works with cotton pickers!!

Your photo is lovely. Everything is white in Iowa right now.

I love all of your pictures! You missed your calling as a photo journalist, but I think a “cotton wife” suits you fantastic! It’s so neat to read all the comments from farmers all over this nation.
Tell the cotton husband I said Hi.
