  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

See That There?

That there is a sign of spring. Whoo Hoo!

Yes siree, it’s coooold outside right now (well, to this Virginia girl anyway) but a sign of spring is always a good thing in my book. Before you know it we’ll be jumping into our pond again and the kids will be running through their sprinklers. The grown-ups call these “sprinklers” center pivots but irrigation be damned – the girls are convinced we bought this equipment for their own summertime enjoyment. We’ll be having picnics and barbecues and…

I’m really getting ahead of myself here aren’t I? But guys, SPRING is almost here!!

The weatherman SAYS it’s less than a month till spring, but we are still under quite a bit of snow up here!

Jennifer, this all brings tears to my sore eyes! I grew up in Virginia and my family of origin is still there. I live in Florida now and absolutely love it here because I am near the ocean. I must admit though that it is my second love to the beautiful countryside of Virginia. I feel quite sure that I will finish my days out on a farm in Surry County.

I have a brother who lives on a farm in Surry County Virginia, maybe you know him? wink….. He has recently found him the most wonderful woman and fallen madly in love and married her. Just when all of us thought that might not be in the cards for him. We all are just crazy in love with her as she is truly a wonderful lady and it feels like she was always with us. And she is already on her way to filling that farmhouse with children!

Thank you Jennifer for this wonderful blog which is truly a gift for me being so far away. Keep it coming!
