Harvesting the crops means that we’re left with big, empty, open fields.
There’s nothing better than popping in a cd (the girls are into Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift these days) and driving ’round and ’round until dark.
There’s not a whole lot of traffic either – except for that guy over there. But I think he’s looking out for us.

That’s so awesome. My 11 yr old would LOVE to drive around in a field. And, what a great way to get started!! Great photos.
How fun!!!
Jennifer-
Thanks for the laugh and for reminding me that I am not the only half-whacked mother out there. Sometimes I wonder what kind of job I am doing raising these youngins’! Last Saturday night, my two oldest boys (11 and 9) wanted to spend the night at their grandparents house, which is still on the same farm but 1/2 mile down the township road from our house. I was so tired and did not feel like driving that big 1/2 mile trip down the road…come on, it would have been a whole mile round trip! So, I told them to drive the van and call me when they got there! They made it safe and sound, the van was fine and honestly, they are far better drivers that me anyway! The sad part? My folks did not even bat an eye! That’s where I get my laid back attitude from…it’s all my folks’ fault! P.S. Are you going to teach your daughters that driving technique of yours with the one leg up on the seat? Or are they already doing that?
Oh, I forgot…When does Peanut start driving…before or after she is potty trained?
Judi,
Right now it’s all she can do to reach the pedal!
Peanut is just an observer now but I am sure she’ll be driving tractors by planting season.

Boy, does that bring back memories!!
I know she is loving every second.
More importantly, from the bare look I got of the interior, it looks like y’all drive Ford trucks!
My darling bride taught my older daughter to drive, in the automatic transmission Mustang. But our younger daughter wanted he favorite daddy to teach her how to drive — in the standard transmission F-150. She’s also driven the loader at my concrete plant a little bit.
You know the difference between Chevy and Ford? Chevy makes pick-ups, but Ford builds trucks!
That is so much fun! Too bad most of Utah couldn’t learn the drive that way first…….They aren’t all bad. Just most of them.
