I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.
My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.
Thanks for visiting the farm!

Why I Don’t Post More Recipes
This was a three layer chocolate cake.
Now it’s a two layer (really ugly, but tasty) chocolate cake.
And that’s why the recipe section of my site is pretty darned bare.
All that matters is how it tastes! I once dropped a whole roasted chicken on the floor that I was suppose to cook for guests. I ended up ordering pizza. Sometimes you just have to laugh it off and be thankful it’s great blog fodder.
Flops taste good too. My kids love flops as they know they can dig in and it doesnt have to be saved for whatever reason!!!!

Thanks for the support!! I’m glad to know I’m not alone.
I felt so bad because CH requested a chocolate cake *just* for him (meaning – “Don’t make cupcakes”) – you can see his initials in M&M’s – and this is what happened. He’d better still eat it!!
One time the top layer of just a plain old Duncan Hines yellow cake split into quarters as soon as I added it on top of the other one. I blamed it on the humid Georgia summer.

Grab a fork and dig in.

Presentation isn’t everything, it’s how it tastes that matters. To me that looks delicious.
Been there, done that.
Yep…had my share of “flops”.

We’d totally eat that! We don’t care how stuff looks around here.
I’ve had so many flops with layer cakes, I don’t even mess with ‘em anymore!
