  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

Getting Back To Normal

In the past nine days, I’ve been to Texas and back (let me tell you – if you’re driving 24 hours one way to Texas, you’d better darn well LIKE your husband!)… then to the beach for a vacation. But like any mom knows, taking your children on vacation is more work than simply staying at home.

I have bunches of photos to share and all the crops are doing well so as soon as I catch my breath, I’ll let you all know what’s happening around these parts.:)

NO!!!!! We’re driving to El Paso this summer. I wasn’t worried about not liking my husband, but I was fretting about whether or not I would be able to continue living with my kids after that much car time. Now I’m wondering if I’d be better off leaving them all at home and going alone on our family vacation!

We leave for Alabama Thursday morning with the dog. We’re leaving as soon as he gets home from work so you know I’ll be doing all the driving. I’m starting to rethink the dog part since we’re taking the truck with no back seat and it’s a 14 hour trip. lol

You get a gold star for surviving your vacation. It’s so much work getting ready to leave, and then catching up when you get back, I always wonder if it’s worth it. Sad times here at Rancho-Am-Broko – Butterfly lost her little dog, Carly, to a rattler over the weekend. Sigh. Talk about about dreary blogging …

Jennifer- I met you at a baseball game and you gave me your card. I love your blog. I don’t know much about farming, but you make it look beautiful. You are very talented. I enjoy checking your blog and watching your corn grow. I will be praying for rain for your crops and your fellow farmers. I hope you are doing well.

Thank you for coming to see us. I don’t know what to say other than that. We were running low on hugs, and you brought ‘em.
