  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

Fruit of the Loom

These almost look like something you can peel and eat. But I don’t recommend it.

Although if you have a hankerin’ for fiber then this is the fruit for you!

This cotton is waiting to spring out of this pod and bloom in all its snowy glory. That’s going to take about a month to happen – it needs to hibernate in here for a little while longer.

I couldn’t resist popping one open and showing y’all. Just promise not to tell the Cotton Husband I’ve reduced his profits by a penny!

Cool ! It would be neat if you could get pictures at different stages them put them together in a flippy thing like u are watching them actually open !

Cotton grows in pods?! I had no idea.

Does it make you sad to know that I had no idea that’s what a cotton plant looked like? For some reason, I always imagined it to be a lot like wheat, only with cotton at the top that you pulled off? Should I be taken out to the barn and shot now?

Bridget… why do you think I write these things!?!? :)
