Many parents try to do a photo shoot for their children at around 3 months… the baby can hold his head up pretty good and it’s the age when a child kind of transitions from newborn to plain ‘ol baby.
And now here’s where I cry because I don’t have a squishy newborn anymore.
Saturday I attempted to capture some three-month-old shots with my little Farmer Boy and I think I did alright.

(The drool comes free of charge, folks.)
The lighting is good, he was clean, there were no meddling big sisters around, the Cotton Husband was in the fields and it was a beautiful day for photos (meaning that it was a little cloudy!). It was great planning on my part.
But then I go through my photos and realize that these… the unplanned, the unpredictable expressions, the bad lighting, the fogged-up camera lens, the mud, the questionable clothing choices -
those are the photos I’ll keep in my heart long past the baby stage.

Great pictures and I love AR’s t-shirt!
Aww….
Shelby made that t-shirt, Carrie! On the brand new (non-plastic-covered) countertop. Yes, my heart was beating a little bit fast!!

I love those photos! Your Little Farmer Boy is growing up so fast!!
How cute! I remember those days with my two boys!
The Cotton Husband wants me to clarify that the last two photographs were “unplanned”… not our son in general!
He just read my post for today and burst out laughing at the title right next to a picture of M.K.
I can’t believe your little guy is 3 months already! Those are all adorable pics.
Gotta love the drool…we have an abundance of it at our house too
Wonderful post!!! It is always best to be prepared for the unplanned!! And you always manage to be!! I love the pix of AR and Farmer Boy! Keep em coming!!
My son, 27 now, says that his happiest childhood memories are of “working” with his dad on the family dairy farm.
