I’m Sorry, I Think You Have The Wrong Person

1

A few weeks ago I logged into Facebook (or as I call it – God’s gift to an incurable, yet isolated, Gossip) and thought for sure I had a message intended for someone else.

Me? Photographing 23 Hair Salon…a beautifully minimalist, chic, upscale salon in Richmond? THE CITY??

You do know that I spend my days in muck, yuck and bacon grease, right?

I have my own chickens and I photograph senior portraits in a barn doorway?

Kelly assured me that she wanted ME, yes ME to photograph her new salon and the gorgeous women who work for her.

Look. It’s not Go-Jo hand cleaner.

And no one is using this as a watering trough or eating the rosepetals.

I was in a different land. A land that smelled good and looked even better with impossibly thin, stylish, beautiful people populating the neighborhood dressed impeccably in black.

Sure enough, the next morning I awoke to sunrises, cornfields and  four hungry, messy children.

It’s what I expect my days to be like. It’s what I love my days to be like. It’s what I want my days to be…

But every now and then I wouldn’t mind the unexpected chance to spend a little time in beautifully decorated, quiet salons with stylish people. Maybe a little will rub off on me.

I wish I could go to that salon, of course my sister might get mad that I allow someone other than her to touch my hair or feet. lol Great pictures Jennifer and I think they picked the perfect person to take their pictures!!!

Yep, M.K. woke me up at 5am… after I’d been awake until 2 editing photos. I was making blueberry muffins and got to look out on that scenery. Love it!

No comparison; I’d choose your life any day over the salon. Those that never experience the scenes you did on this day are truly missing out!
