As part of what I feel sure is a prank, a few of my photographs were featured in my hometown art show earlier this month.
There were pieces from artists I have admired my entire life…
and some from budding artists like this one from my friend Sam.
And here’s my pile.
I was honored and thrilled to be asked to participate. And the people who asked me really didn’t seem as if they were pulling my leg, so it may have been a legitimate offer.
But if not then it wouldn’t be the first time this old schoolhouse has played a part in a prank.
Even though I am positive she doesn’t remember this – long, long ago my friend Karen and I were hanging out on the steps of this building. Right next to the sign. A car pulled up and asked if we knew where this building was located. Without so much as glancing at each other we said, “Sure! You go to the stop sign and take a right. Then take another right at the end of that road. Go to the end of Main Street, take a right and then take another right on Railroad Avenue. It will be on your left.” Those smiling tourists thanked us and headed on their way around that very short block while Karen and I headed somewhere in the opposite direction very quickly.
You know, I’d kind of deserve it if I did get punked.

Too funny!! Congrats on your art show and that school is beautiful!
How great!!! Congrats!
Congratulations on your inclusion in the show! You deserve it – we are so proud of you!
