  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

The Flour Drawer

Did I mention that I have drawers for flour and sugar?

I found these great metal scoops online and they’re perfect.

When I want to make pancakes, all I have to do is just open the drawer and scoop.

Life is really so much easier because I insisted on having these drawers.

I want flour and sugar drawers, too! Even with 2 year-old twin granddaughters, and their 4 year-old sister who all love to help Nonna in the kitchen… :)
And what an adorable little helper you have!

In addition to your metal scoops, looks like you have mini human scoops too!

flour drawers….that’s awesome. how do you keep the sugar from getting crunchy?

The Cotton WifeOctober 23, 2009 - 7:08 pm

Danielle,

I’m soon going to get lids for these drawers. I haven’t tried putting in sugar without them yet. I imagine if the sugar were in there now then all three of my girls would scarf it down before it ever got a chance to be crunchy!

I love my flour and sugar drawers, too. So do my 3rd – 8th grade 4-H members. Playing in my flour drawer seems to be what they remember most from our Bread Baking lessons!!

When the drawers were new, our youngest was 10months old so the bottom drawer in the unit became her drawer. It held cookie cutters and her older sisters’ toy cooking sets. Those items needed to be stored somewhere and it saved a lot of,”GET OUT OF THERE!”

What a sweetie…and I LOVE those drawers. I also wanted to thank you again for choosing me as one of the winners of the Pioneer Woman Cookbook. I received it last week…and it is simply wonderful! I am the envy of all my friends right now:0). Thanks again!!
