From time to time, it is necessary to get rid of some old building or house on the farm.
Yesterday was the day for this house. We didn’t own it but we rent the farmland it sits on and we were happy to be able to help our neighbors who just wanted the dang thing GONE.
I am using the term “we” liberally here. It’s not like that guy was doing anything. Look at him – clean as a whistle… he looks like he sits at a desk all day.
We couldn’t bear the thought of this much excitement happening on the farm and the girls being stuck at school. Not that school isn’t fun but it can’t really compare to helping burn down a house.
This seemed to be the only way to keep Avery Ruth from trying to blow the whole fire out. Bless her heart, she stood as far away as she could and huffed and she puffed and try as she might, she couldn’t blow that fire out. But she kept trying.
It always seems a shame to me to burn down something old but the house didn’t have plumbing and it was an eyesore that would have needed massive repairs. Burning it first makes it easier to clear it off the land entirely.
And it’s hard work. Y’all see how hard it is, right? HARD work. Yes indeedy.
