Our Christmas Ornaments

My favorite.

And some that are new. I like this one but thank goodness we’re not like old Santa and have hogs to care for.

And what would a Christmas tree be without ornaments made by children? This one is like a Christmas version of the Geico eyes…

10117

I had to smile when Maggie pulled this one out and shouted, “Hey! It says MY name!” and then started remembering making it. You’re never too young for Christmas memories.

Well, maybe my little boy is. This IS his first one, after all.

Is any Christmas really complete without a Charlie Brown decoration? Or two…

10112

There are the ornaments that our church makes.

10115

And cherished ornaments given by friends. I’ll bet more than a few of my friends and neighbors have this particular ornament.

10114

We always let the girls decorate the tree.  There are always far too many ornaments at the bottom and lots and lots of gaps, but who cares?

10113

Aiming for perfection on a Christmas tree is missing the point.

1018

I’d rather have the perfect memories.

  1. I love special ornaments. My mom’s tree is covered with them. I can’t wait to have them someday.

So true ! I still use my home made ornaments from when Angie was a baby 26yrs ago! They made fade in color thru the years..but the memories last forever!

    I’m with you!
The “perfect” tree will gone in a few weeks.
But the “perfect” memories will last a lifetime.

For some reason, my darling bride didn’t like the ornament I hung on the tree — sixth picture down.

I love the Santa ornament with the pigs! Cute!!!
The ornaments that the kids make are so special. We have one tree dedicated to just handmade ornaments that our children have made through the years. It is great fun pulling them out and talking about them. Stop over for a visit sometime…… :)

I too have a tree dedicated to the ones my children have made through the years that I cherish the memories of those ‘past presents’. And we have the ‘family tree’ that the children decorate for the ‘perfect memories’. There is nothing better than memory lane.
