  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

Lacy and Katy’s Visit

This is Lacy Razor knitting a sock in my living room.

Lacy also makes her own stock for soup. And her own soap.

And she’s so unbelievably beautiful and radiant and down-to-earth that I am convinced she talks to small woodland creatures in her spare time.

Never one to miss a visit from two pretty girls, the Cotton Husband took us all on a tour of the farm.

Including that cemetery that is close to our property.

The little boy I keep attached himself permanenty to Lacy’s hip while my pudgy little baby did the same to Katy.

We explored and read.

And my husband formed a new family.

And Avery Ruth continued to get as close to Katy as humanly possible.

And my baby. My baby. He’s still mine. I don’t care who comes to visit.

Goodness, I miss you guys! Thank you for making us feel so incredibly welcome in your home — which radiated warmth and love.

That cemetery was pure magic, too. You are so very thoughtful. It was truly an honor to meet you and your family. I loved every single minute.

Blessings,
Lacy

How sweet of you to share your family!
It’s all good……as long as they give them back!! tee hee
Seriously, glad you all had a good visit. It’s always fun to meet fellow bloggers. Not that I have. It’s a dream that I have yet to fulfill.

It was Debbie! We’ll have to meet up at the one-and-only Starbucks one day. :)

I love old cemeteries! They are so quiet and my family enjoys dreaming about what each person was like so long ago.

Looks like you had fun with friends. That’s always nice.

That is one photogenic little guy!! You’re a doll for sharing your home and family, and I know it was a treat for all of you. :)
We have a cemetery across the road – earliest grave goes back to around 1845 – and I love to wander through there and wonder about those individuals’ stories…

I’m sure you had a wonderful visit! I always think your youngest looks like CW but he looks like you in that last picture!

We have a cemetery south of town that was for slaves and ‘colored’ people. There was a time when people would occasionally clean it and try to keep it up, but over the past several years, it’s been left to grow up with small trees and weeds. There’s no sign and you wouldn’t even know it was there if you were just passing by.

This is so sweet!
I also went back and read the post about the old cemetery, that is too neat. My husband’s family keeps up with an old cemetery adjacent to their family farm. There is alot of history there.
