  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

My Show-Off

I have two daughters who are extremely shy.

This comes in handy when we’re out in public because anyone who wanted to abduct them would bring them back as fast as humanly possible. But it’s a tad embarassing when they’re dressed in their hunting gear, with unbrushed hair and refuse to speak. Then I feel as though I’ve given birth to something out of Deliverance.

But my third… oh my goodness. The word shy isn’t even in her ever-expanding vocabulary.

Our little church finally had its Christmas program yesterday and Avery Ruth jumped in with both chubby feet – taking off from our pew and setting out on her own.

While one of her sisters perched on Grandma’s lap to avoid being seen, my third pranced and sashayed and generally made herself the center of attention.

I am not, however, wondering where this desire for attention came from. I already know…

was the baton twirling before or after New Year’s Eve dance???? That talent comes from having so many sistas!!

That was at the last-day-of-the-season hunt club supper on Saturday. And yep – he had to do SOMETHING to get the attention away from all those sisters!

I love the red hair, my two red headed grandsons were here for the holidays and now have gone back to Germany. This was my son and familys first Christmas here in 5 years. What a great time we had. My grandsons only know military life and they are not shy at all.

Oh Jennifer I laughed so hard when I saw the CW. And his face. I love the picture where you can see just a little red hair in the front pew.

Avery Ruth will probably steal the show when she gets old enough to be in the program!

And I, too, have 3 daughters, all different as morning, noon, and night… :-)

This is by far your funniest one yet! Tell Keith he missed his calling – I will be looking for him in the next Macy’s Parade.
Love all pictures of Avery Ruth – she is her daddy’s girl!

Love you,
Mom
