  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

Growing and Gardening

We’ve been spending some time planning our garden for the spring and I wonder…

Do you think tomato cages will keep them little just a while longer?

VaGirl2March 30, 2010 - 4:21 pm

It’s possible…give it a try. :)

LisaMarch 30, 2010 - 6:00 pm

If you do try to cages, be sure to use little tags so we know what variety they are.

BeckyMarch 30, 2010 - 6:57 pm

Well darn! Why couldn’t I have thought of that before mine got growed up?!

Sandra HendersonMarch 30, 2010 - 8:11 pm

Just don’t put any fertilizer on ‘em…
Those are nice cages like the ones we made out of that concrete wire stuff… they’ll last for years! and hopefully your younguns will be younguns for as long as they can.

Nooooo! And squeezing them every day won’t help either….Believe me, I tried! :)

AmyMarch 31, 2010 - 5:43 am

Awww, that would be nice to slow them down a little:) Wait until they start driving…

Cute post Jennifer! If your cages are missing don’t drive to Kansas to get them back! :)

We’ve had these cages forever, I think. Keith’s dad used to be in charge of the garden and he used them.

Lisa, I will remember to do that!

BrandiMarch 31, 2010 - 6:26 am

If it works let me know, I’ll use it too ;)

JenMarch 31, 2010 - 6:30 am

I loved your post and the ideas provided. There are a ton of opinions out there that are both good and bad. If you have any more suggestions concerning gardening or related topics, that would be much appreciated. Keep up the great writing!
