  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

Put Your Rings Away

I mean it.

If you ever want to see them clean again – put ‘em up now.

On Monday, my friend Amy posted a recipe for Blueberry Crumble Bars. As fate would have it, Keith’s uncle had just walked through the door with a whole bag full of blueberries.

Impending 5k aside, these had to be made.

Please make an effort NOT to eat the sugar covered butter chunks. Or at least make more of an effort than I made. It shouldn’t be hard to do that.

400

Also take note of what is in the background if you decide to photograph your friend’s recipe. I don’t know if Amy drinks Apple Juice but she surely didn’t intend for it to be in innocent Blueberry Crumble photographs.

401

Keep trying not to eat chunks of butter.

402

This is where this recipe become Health Food.

Blueberries. Lemon (juice).

It’s now become something that is GOOD for you.

403

Oh wait.

404

Another tip: Don’t get so impatient that you keep checking the oven every ten minutes to see if the darned thing is browned yet.

406

This should really be MORE brown. But look at that! How could I possibly wait?

408
409

Seriously… it would have been torture to wait even 5 more minutes. I didn’t even let it cool so I could cut it into the squares it was destined to be cut into.

410

Especially since my friend Anna was coming over to train for that 5k at any moment.

Here’s Miss Amy… click on her photo and go thank her for bringing this delicious Health Food into your life.

Whoaaaa, there’s a pic of little ol’ me on your blog:) So glad you loved the recipe!!! We do drink apple juice in this house, but my kiddos are bigger fans of White Grape Peach. Love the pix, very enticing:) I can’t wait to try this with rasberries or sour cherries! I’m pretty sure it’s my new go to recipe! Lov ya…

Oh my gosh–how lucky was I to drop by and have the pleasure having a bowl of blueberry heaven with a baby in my lap and children running around me!! Life is good!

OMGoodness! That looks so good I’m driving down to the market to pick up some blueberries! Yummmm….

That looks like it would go marvelously well with my dinner. Mind you I haven’t figured out what we are having for dinner yet, but when I do I’m sure that will go marvelously with it. I wouldn’t mind having just that for dinner. Throw on some ice cream and you’ve near bout got all your food groups covered.

I’m thnking we should have had some “Apple Juice” when we got back!!!
