My children are young enough that I remember what it was like to go away and be able to call it a vacation.
These days I need a vacation by myself AFTER we all get back.
Except I’d get home to a wrecked house and then spend the next month putting it back in order.
While I am certainly appreciative of getting away to our favorite beach spot with my family…

Oh, how I remember those days! Yes, a lot of work for sure… Great photos! I’m assuming this is Virginia Beach? The ocean is so magical, especially to children. I grew up in La. and going to Biloxi was “the beach” to me.
We are right here this year, not going anywhere, but hopefully our children will come down to visit us and we will vacation right here. Happy Memorial Day! XO
We went to Nags Head, NC! And yep – the kids LOVE the beach. It’s the first thing we hear when we wake up… “When are we going to the beach?”.
It is a hoot to see the Cotton Husband in swim trunks! And the girls suits are adorable.
Oh the beach sounds like such a good time. How fun! I think me and the hubby are gonna head up to Minnisota to visit a cousin of mine. There has to be farm land to look at or my husband isn’t interested in going.
Since TNT isn’t racing this year we might actually get a vacation. In the previous five summers we’ve been together our vacation was spent at a big race in Nebraska. Well this year the idea has been floating around to visit the Black Hills and see Mount Rushmore or go to Estes Park in Colorado and rent a cabin. Just not sure yet.
Vacations and camping trips!! I need a vacation after each one!! We leave this weekend for ours. Tho we are not exactly sure “where” it is we are actually going yet!
We just have the days blocked off for a vacation before all the “farming fun” begins!!!

Vacations that aren’t work??….what are those??! My daughter is almost 11 so she is getting to that age where relaxing on the beach for a bit isn’t that bad of an idea
She is in dance & got herself invited to Nationals in Wildwood NJ!! That will be our vacation this year….& a lot of work the whole 7 days!! There are beautiful beaches there, I’ve heard, & hopefully we get to enjoy them a bit.
Estes Park in Colorado is amazing!! If you get the time, your family should really make the trip!! My in laws drive there motorcycle there every summer for a few days stay. The pics they bring back tell me we need to get out there!!
