Something Besides Rust

I don’t have so much of an inner Martha Stewart as I have an inner Grandma Walton. Wait – maybe that’s flattering myself a bit much. Let’s go with Granny from The Beverly Hillbillies.

My friends Yoga Gal and Mama from the Bowling Team inspire me to try to coax some Martha out once in a while and lately it’s been about toys.

My babies like the old washtub just fine, but when Mama wrote about her kids’ water table it got me thinking…

It turns out my kids aren’t allergic to “new” the way I am.

They kinda like it.

So to help my children shuck off the horror of aluminum washtubs, wooden swings and homemade seesaws, comes CSN Stores.

They wrote to me last week and wanted to know if I’d consider being part of their team… if I’d consider doing reviews and giveaways.

Me?

I mean, I cook with my grandma’s cast iron skillets, what do I know about stuff?

But my children shoved me down, stepped to the computer and cheerfully agreed to review new, exciting, clean, un-dented products.

First up? A vintage-style kitchen set. Ordered last night with one arm twisted around my back and set to arrive in a few days.

They’ll… I mean, I… will let you know all about it.

Sounds like fun! My kids love playing in water. We are low-tech, too. They have graduated from the mud puddles to the overspill from the pond. Look forward to seeing your new “kitchen”!

  6. Woot woot!

They are going to love the kitchen- Little Kid loves hers and cooked me a breakfast that consisted of choco cake, white cake, and a carrot this morning. Mmm mmm good. Kidkraft is a good, solid brand too.

MK is getting so big, he already looks totally different from when I was there in March!

  7. Well, since I AM a granny (who lives on an isolated island), I’m loving the idea of finding out about new products for my grandchildren!!!! What a great idea! and a win/win!!!! Congratulations!

This is such a great idea, and your little ones are lovin’ it! My daughter got a free play kitchen for her little one, just for reviewing it, and my granddaughter thinks it’s great. Wish I’d had deals like this when mine were younguns!

I love the kids pics and I think all kids love to play in water. sometimes a little water and things to pour it back and forth in can be hours of fun. My grandaughter likes a drop or two of food coloring to make the water pretty. not too much or you will have red or blue kids.

Hey I have to defend the rust! Our “pool” growing up on the farm was two 55-gallon water drums. After we hauled water to the cows in the summer, we’d roll them around to the backyard, fill ‘em up and jump in.

They will enjoy, and oh my gosh they are the cutest kids EVER!
