  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

A Shoo-In

The other day (meaning a month or so ago), I opened up a package that said I’d been nominated for Farm Bureau’s Farm Woman of the Year.

I was really very surprised to be nominated and have been carefully working on my application here and there in between runny noses and Nabs feedings.

So far I have quoted Gone With The Wind, called myself a hermit and begun an answer with “Well…”

BEST APPLICATION EVER – not.

I’m sorry to whomever has to wade through my silly piece of paper to get to the articulate applications.

When and where do we vote for you? Oh and that’s how I started all my essay questions last semester. lol

Jennifer WarthanSeptember 29, 2010 - 12:57 pm

It’s a panel of judges Carrie! But if voting were involved, you’d be the first person I called!

Jenn, Love these photos. I may order some and pretend they were taken on our farm. JK, I’ll give credit where credit is due! Wanted to wish you luck on the FB contest and encourage you to persevere with the app. Those FB apps are long, and I will speak from experience that they tend to prefer answers written in narrative form…like starting sentences with Well… :) Be yourself!

The farmer and I are in the top 3 finalists for FL Farm Bureau Young farmer of the year this year, we will find out Oct 14 at our state convention if we go on to the Nat’l comp. It is exciting to even be considered.

I wish you the best. When do they announce the winner?

Charming's MamaOctober 1, 2010 - 12:43 pm

Please let us know when you win.
