  • Welcome!

I'm a farm wife, a mama and a photographer living in Virginia.

My camera is typically filled with images of sunrises, dusty fields, even dustier children and whatever we happen to be planting or harvesting at the time.

    Thanks for visiting the farm!

All Is Right

I know this is going to sound really crazy but my world has been “off” all summer.

I have loved, loved, loved having the girls home and out of school.

She’s sure loved it.

But here’s the thing in the summer…

The Cotton Husband wakes up super early and tends to the irrigation systems that we have spread out on the farm –

and he has been…

oh, I can hardly say it.

He’s been…

eating at McDonalds every single morning.

::sob::

The upside is that I get to sleep in and I can’t even believe I have nerve enough to complain about that.

But if I sleep until 8, I feel like my whole day is gone and not cooking breakfast has just been too strange.

7

So with school back in session, I am back to waking up at a normal hour and back to cooking big, hot breakfasts for Keith before he heads into the fields and I am back to my blessed routine.

8

This probably means that I need to start going to sleep earlier though.

Jennifer those pictures are so precious. You can just feel the excitment from AR as she waits for the older two to get home. And then when they are hugging her it just warms my heart. Great job on capturing such a great moment!!!

Aww, love that sequence of photos. They are so simple, yet I bet they would look awesome on a little photo board in one of the kid’s rooms. :)

I totally get that sleeping in thing. If I sleep in till 7:00, I feel like I’ve wasted most of the day. Particularly if my kids were still as little as yours. However – raising those little kids is exhausting. (and adorable!) Give yourself a pat on the back for it all.

The smiles on Avery Ruth’s and Maggie’s faces is just one of those “Aaaaww” moments! So sweet.
Sleeping in until 8 is MY routine now that I don’t have to go to work anymore…

Jennifer, those pictures of your daughters hugging made me so teary-eyed. Dang mood swings. Our family is impatiently waiting for our adoption papers to be approved and my daughter cannot wait to be a Big Sister. Seeing the pleasure your girls take in one another makes me so anxious for my daughter to have that gift. Although I’m sure that much luvin’ isn’t going on when there are Barbie dolls involved. Thanks for the photos.
