I snapped these photos on a quick trip to Chippokes State Park last week.
I started looking at them back here at home and realized how intensely she’s watching her big sister.
And both of them love every moment of this even though she has no idea what her big sister is doing or why.
It almost makes me jealous that I don’t have a sister… watching these two play together, listening to Maggie read to her and seeing them invent silly games.
I think I’ll call my sister-in-laws today. They’ll do in a pinch.

Very sweet!
My daughter recently bemoaned her only daughter status and I told her how lucky she was that I could be her friend. She said she’s doing okay with her real friends, but thanks anyway.
I wish my daughter would appreciate each other. Right now they bemoan the fact they have sisters.
There is no better friendship than the one you have with a sister. I love my sister. But we were not always friends. She was always the little bratty sister that got me in trouble. However, that changed and she’s my very best friend.
Photos like this of your kids just make my day! Thanks!
My girls are so close. I have some pictures of our oldest reading to her little sister that I just love to look at. I love listening to them play, too.
I was the oldest of three girls and of course the two younger ones did everything I did. First it was annoying, then it was cute, and now its just so darn sentimental and strikes a note in my heart to think about it. Thanks for this post

There is nothing like a sister! I love both of mine dearly and can’t imagine life without them… life is easier knowing they are just a phone call or email away. And I still watch them intently when we “play” together (could be the bifocals). Great post Jennifer.
I always had my brother that I followed around everywhere. I am now paying for that with injuries that are popping up and the doctor says “Oh this is something that would have happened when you were a kid”. Yea for big brothers!
you know, even though I do have a sister, I often borrow your sisters-in-law myself!
How sweet is this. I reminds me of my sister and I think I’ll give her a call too, or better yet write her a letter today. Beautiful post
peace n abundance,
